Das tote Brügge by Georges Rodenbach

Das tote Brügge is a play in three scenes based om the novel of Georges Rodenbach.
It shows the struggle of a man who is not able to cope with the loss of his wife. He dedicates everything he does to the adoration of her. Stuck in his daily routines that help him with the mourning proces, he sits, as always, at the local busstop. Here he meets a woman with an uncanny resemblance to his late wife. In each other they both find an unfulfilled need. The understanding they agreed upon gets heavily tested because of his desire to slowly turn her into his late wife, and her desire to make him completely dependent on her. When their way of living cannot take the pressure anymore, she arranges an ultimate unification between him and his late wife.
